虎纹蛙(学名:Hoplobatrachus rugulosus)是叉舌蛙科、虎纹蛙属于两栖。雄蛙体长66-98毫米,雌蛙体长87-121毫米,体重可达250克左右。头长大于头宽,吻端钝尖;下颌前缘有两个齿状骨突;瞳孔横椭圆形,眼间距小于上眼睑宽,鼓膜约为眼径的3/4。虎纹蛙常生活于海拔900米以下稻田、沟渠、池塘、水库、沼泽地等有水的地方,其栖息地随觅食、繁殖、越冬等不同生活时期而改变。虎纹蛙是肉食性动物,在自然界中以捕食蝗虫、蝶蛾、蜻蜓、甲虫等昆虫为主,虎纹蛙蝌蚪则靠摄食水中的原生动物、藻类及有机碎屑等天然饵料为食。
Hoplobatrachus rugulosus is an amphibian frog in the family Formohylidae.The male frog is 66-98 mm long and the female frog is 87-121 mm long, and the body weight can reach about 250 grams. The head is longer than the width, the snout is blunt. There are two dentoid bones at the jaw front. The pupils are transverse oval, the eye spacing is less than the width of the upper eyelid, and the tympanic membrane is about 3/4 of the diameter of the eye. It often lives in paddy fields, ditches, ponds, reservoirs, swamps and other places with water below 900 meters above sea level. Its habitat changes with different life periods such as the foraging period, breeding period and overwintering period. It is a carnivorous animal and mainly preys on insects such as locusts, butterfly moths, dragonflies and beetles in nature. The tadpoles feed on natural prey such as protozoa, algae and organic debris in the water.
