醉鱼草（拉丁文名：Buddleja lindleyana Fortune.），属灌木，茎皮褐色；小枝具四棱，棱上略有窄翅；幼枝、叶片下面、叶柄、花序、苞片及小苞片均密被星状短绒毛和腺毛。叶对生，萌芽枝条上的叶为互生或近轮生，叶片膜质，卵形、椭圆形至长圆状披针形，基部常有宿存花萼；种子淡褐色，小，无翅。 花期4-10月，果期8月至翌年4月。它穗状聚伞花序顶生，花紫色，芳香，深受蝴蝶的喜爱，能招引来各式各样的蝴蝶。全株有小毒，捣碎投入河中能使活鱼麻醉，便于捕捉，故有“醉鱼草”之称。
